MATTHEW 13:10-11 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
We need to understand that the Bible was not written for everyone in the world. ..I used to think so. Certainly, everyone in the world can benefit from reading it, …and ultimately they may be in a position where the Bible can have a positive impact on their lives… ( Isaiah 55:11) Enough exposure to the Word will convict the heart of a non-Believer and bring them to the point of repentance and salvation.
I’ve come to the conclusion that the Bible is a coded book, written to a select class of people… God’s own people. That’s why anyone who is not a child of God cannot understand the Bible… In other words, outside of being His child, the Bible is just a book.
There are people who are academics that can tell you “about” the Bible, but do not know the Author of it. Without that intimate relationship with Him, the mysteries and Power of the Word are unknown. Those outside of the personal relationship of God can never know the message…
When people tell you that they cannot understand the Bible, they are telling you the truth… Even people who call themselves “Christian” do not understand the Word, because they cannot do so apart from the Holy Spirit of God. He is the One who reveals the Truth and nature of God. He is the One who brings us understanding… All people who are born again need to have the Baptism of the Holy Ghost in order to move forward in their relationship with God. Only through Him can the mysteries of God’s Word be revealed to us.
The Bible was written for the people of God. Only those who are His can truly understand it.
