MATTHEW 8:16-17 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Can you really understand the scripture that is written above? Who was brought to Jesus? People who were sick… How did Jesus heal “ALL” who were sick? “HE CAST OUT THE SPIRIT WITH HIS WORD…”. This verse implies that the sicknesses which Jesus healed were caused by devils. He cast out devils and the sick were healed.
Ya wanna see another scripture that assures us that “all” sickness comes from Satan by way of his workers? …Look at Luke 13:11-13: “And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. 12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. 13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.” Jesus was teaching in the synagogue, and there was a woman who was bowed together and could not straighten up. The Bible says that she had a spirit of infirmity… “What kind of spirit?” (It was not a “blessing” from God!, neither was it “approved” by Him!) Jesus said that Satan had bound her. (Luke 13:16) If the medical profession today had been asked to diagnose that woman’s case, not a single doctor in the world would say that “A spirit of Satan has bound her.”… They might call it arthritis of the spine, …or a damaged vertebrae or some other medical term, but the scriptures tell us that the devil was the real cause of pain for this woman. The Medical field would be correct so far as science is concerned… but the Bible tells us that the problem was that “a spirit of infirmity from Satan had bound her”. What did Jesus do to heal this woman? He cast out the spirit… (Luke 13:12)
Ya see where all sickness and disease comes from? The Word confirms itself… Check these out as well: Matthew 9:32-33 (dumb was healed); Mark 1:30-31 (deaf and dumb boy was healed); Luke 4:39 (fever left Peter’s Mother in law and she was healed)…
Every example shows us, by demonstration of our Lord, that sickness, disease and infirmity are all products of Satan. He rebuked the spirit and cast it out, which resulted in every person being healed.
Friends, …don’t tell me that’s not how it works today… The Lord never changes. (Malachi 3:6) The Word tells us that we are empowered to do it (Matthew 10:1), commanded to do it… and must do it to honor Jesus.
